Acute Conditions
- Fever, first stages with no localizing or individualizing symptoms. High fever with flushed blotches on face or paleness. Less intense or sudden than Aconite or Belladonna with no anxiety or restlessness, yet often irritable and talkative. Often associated with sore throat, coughing or headache.
Other common conditions: anemia, bursitis, colds, epistaxis, gastritis, hemorrhage, otitis media, pharyngitis, pneumonia
- As a tissue salt, Ferrum phosphoricum is often used in cases of diarrhea, dysmenorrhea, enuresis, vertigo, abscesses, watering of the eyes, conjunctivitis, cystitis, angina, gingivitis, contusions, bruises, muscular injuries, and trauma. It can also be used in cases of inflammatory pain, high temperature, congestion, hemorrhagia, and open wounds.

Characteristics
- General: tendency to come down with a cold easily, very weak, bright red bleeding from any part of the body, discharges may be blood-streaked, anemia, bruised soreness of the muscles
- Worse: night, 4:00-6:00 A.M., motion, right side
- Better: cold cloth or ice pack, bleeding, lying down
- Psychological: irritable, talkative
- Other symptoms: nosebleeds with flushed face or with round red spots on the cheeks; lots of bright red blood that clots easily, inflammation of throat or lungs with fever, but few definite symptoms; sore muscles of the chest and shoulders;
- Food and drink: desire for sour foods and cold drinks, aversion to meat and milk
